A day after body of Chandan Singgh was recovered at Bihar’s Sasaram, the police have claimed to identify a coal-laden goods train PMRG Special engine number 7052 whose one of the wagons was used to transport the slain body. The body of the MSc student was shipped from Daltonganj to GRP Sasaram for disposing of it.
The goods train reached Daltonganj at 5 in the morning on November 12 and its departure from here was at 5.49 am. Sources said the body of Chandan Singh was dumped during this 49 minutes of the stay of the train at Daltonganj railway station, claimed the police.
Officer in charge of Daltonganj police station Sanjay Kumar Malviya confirmed that the body was recovered in Sasaram by GRP and the engine number was 7052 but this police officer contested that body of Chandan Singh was not dumped in the coal wagon goods train in Daltonganj railway station but at Kechki railway station where this goods train had reached at 4.14 am on November 12. Kechki railway station is a quiet station where there is no buzz of any passenger activity. “Major part of the Kechki railway station lies in seclusion and taking advantage of this surroundings around this railway station the killers dumped the body of Chandan Singh here,” Malviya asserted.
Chandan Singh was taken out of his house by his one acquaintance on November 11 night and on November 12 his body was found in a goods train at Sasaram where a railway personnel had first seen the body on a heap of coal.
Sasaram GRP cremated this body on November 15 as he body had ‘ Om’ tattooed and there were sacred threads in the wrist. Three days later on November 18 social media spread this information and then only on November 19 it was established that body in Sasaram was of Chandan Singh. later his father and other family members too confirmed it, added Malviya.
JMM is now raising the demand of CBI probe. JMM’s Silli MlA Ameet Kumar met the bereaved family and is set to raise the murder in the Assembly too. Daltonganj had a severe bandh called by JMM on November 16 here and now a demand for a CBI probe into this murder is set to further highlight this murder.
