A 35-year-old man, K Narayan Rao, who was running the racket succeeded to escape arrest, but the police have nabbed Rao's wife Mina Devi who was also present at the spot.
According to police, the sex-racket was being run at the house of Surjan Singh, a former Tata Steel employee. The house owner was away in Punjab.

“As per information gathered on November 6, Singh had left for Punjab for attending a marriage ceremony asking the tenant to look after his house, but the latter took advantage of the situation and used his rooms for running the sex racket. Singh has returned back to the city on Friday " said Mahto.
According to the officer-in-charge, three of the women, all in the age group between 22 - 24 years were directly involved in the sex racket, where as the fourth woman Mina Devi was assisting her husband in running the racket. The two youths who were arrested along with the women were in their mid-twenties.
The police recovered bottles of liquor and also a large number of contraceptives from the rooms which was being used by Rao.
All the six accused have been arrested under Immoral Traffic Prevention Act and sent to the Ghaghidih Central Jail after their production before a judicial magistrate
Rackets of forcing the girls for indulging in flesh trade are active in the district. The district administration is greatly worried at the increasing number of sex rackets that are flourishing in and around the city.
In the last few months, the police have busted a number of such rackets. However, a senior police officer said: "It has been observed that offenders get bail the day they are produced in court. Moreover, there is no follow-up action by the police. In most of the cases, the flat and house-owners take anticipatory bail, so the police cannot do anything to book them. Also, sexual intimacy between consenting adults cannot be considered an offence.”
A recent raid at a NH 33 based resort also showed several couples in compromising positions. These hotels are frequented by businessmen and even students. Apparently, couples came to the flats as guests and indulged in immoral activities.“ At least twice a month the raids are conducted on different resorts along NH 33, but the couples go scott-free in most of the cases," an officer.
