Palamu police aborted a well planned and calculated move to vitiate the communal harmony in the outskirt of Daltonganj town Pokhraha on Friday.
Unidentified people left behind a polythene bag containing 400 grams of meat near a temple on the Daltonganj Panki state highway on Friday. The temple priest saw this around 9.30 in the morning on Friday and soon a big crowd of locals jammed this State highway.
SP Palamu Indrajeet Mahatha said DSP Premnath rushed there and seized this meat in the polythene bag. The meat would be examined by a vet surgeon he said.
The SP agreed that miscreants chose Friday with a very sinister design but the police and the saner elements of the two communities aborted their entire plan and design of creating tension and distrust.
Minority people have their houses near the temple and sources said they will not be so foolish to do this and so it is suspected some outsiders have played this sinister game there at Pokhraha.
A criminal case against unidentified people has been registered.
