Jharkhand Police Association and Jharkhand Police Association on Monday wrote a letter to the Chief Minister, Hemant Soren demanding restoration of Compensatory Leave. The Associations said through the letter that keeping in view the sentiments of its members and the emerging State-wide dissatisfaction among them, the Jharkhand Police Association will be compelled to start an agitation. Therefore, it is requested to return the CPL leave of 20 days deducted in lieu of paying the salary of 3 months to the police personnel, otherwise obliged. Due to the pressure of work and the nature of work in the police department, the police personnel are prone to mental stress and depression and due to lack of leave; many times they become depressed and cause untoward incidents. Now after the removal of the 20 days due compensation leave, there has been a lot of discontent and anguish in his mind.
It was also mentioned in the letter that in the erstwhile State of Jharkhand, Bihar has also given 3 months’ salary through resolution letter No.-04, V-4-0-7, 204 GA. After leaving 20 days- Compensation Leave was abolished, due to which there was anguish among the police personnel of Bihar, and then the Bihar Government took care of the feelings of the policemen.
Their dues of 20 days compensation leave have been retained through resolution letter No.-4, V.-40-74/2044.
The Association said through the letter that in the election manifesto published by the party before the Vidhan Sabha election 2019, it was announced to bring back 20 days of CPL leave with 13 months salary for the police personnel. There was happiness in everyone's mind, but till now no concrete decision has been taken in this direction, due to which disappointment is arising in everyone's mind.
It is also worth mentioning here that the Police Association and the Police Men's Association on request has sent its recommendation to return its office letter number 280/P. dated March 05, 2020 to CPL to the Secretary, Home-Prisons and Disaster Management Department, the Director General and Inspector General of Police, Jharkhand Ranchi.
