During the special drive to stop the naxal activities in the border areas of the district, Hazaribag police have arrested regional commander of TPC (Tritiya Prastuti Committee) Dinesh Oraon from the jungle of Keredari block. Police have also recovered a huge quantity of arms and ammunition and Maoist literature from Oraon, who was carrying Rs 15 lakh reward on his head.
Hazaribag Superintendent of Police Manoj Rattan Chothey said that the police headquarters received the information that the regional commander of TPC has been seen by the villagers in the jungle of the Keredari block.
He further said that this information was given to the in charge of a special drive. The team rushed to Keradari jungle, from where the regional commander was arrested.
Chothey said that during the investigation the regional commander confessed some important facts of the organization. The special team is continuously raiding different spots on the information of the regional commander.
The SP further said that the regional commander was planning to collect levy from the different organisations and the big contractors of the area. Police have recovered a huge quantity of arms and ammunition from the place.
Arrested regional commander Dinesh Oraon is an important name in the organization. The state government has declared a 15 lakhs cash award on his arrest.
The SP said that the district headquarter has decided to send the name of the operation team members and leader to the state government for the reward.
