Ranchi police, on Monday, have arrested seven criminals even before the incident of robbery from the businessman was carried out. On the basis of secret information received by Ranchi SSP, Kishore Kaushal, the police and QRT team of Sukhdev Nagar police station have taken action.
Addressing a press meet Kaushal said that the police have arrested five criminals who were planning a robbery by raiding inside an empty house located in Navatoli of Sukhdevnagar police station area. “On the tip off the arrested criminals, two other criminals, who were inspecting the businessman, were arrested. The arrested criminals include Santosh Rai, Deepak Kumar Singh, Ravi Kumar, Altamas Ansari, Suraj Kumar and Sujit Kumar. The police have recovered a country-made pistol, a country-made katta, five live bullets and two bikes from them,” he added.
The SSP had received information that some criminals were doing Reiki of the businessman of Pandra Bazar. “In order to return home in the evening from the shop located in the market committee, they are planning to loot on the way. After which, on the instructions of the SSP, a police team was formed under the leadership of City SP,” said Kaushal.
The SSP said that meanwhile, on August 28, information was received that the criminals had gathered in an empty house at Navatoli Chowk to carry out the incident of robbery from that businessman today itself. “Along with this, the criminals have also collected illegal weapons and are planning to loot the businessman. After this, the police raided and arrested the criminals,” he added.
The arrested criminals already have criminal history. A total of 10 cases are registered against Santosh Rai in Ranchi and Ramgarh among the criminals. Two cases are already registered against Altamas Ansari, one case against Sujit Kumar, two cases against Abhishek Kumar Chowdhary and one case against Deepak Kumar.
