Chief Minister Raghubar Das has equated the steps initiated by Narendra Modi-led Central Government with the ideologies propagated by Mahatma Gandhi. Addressing mediapersons a day ahead of the Prime Minister's Khunti and Dumka visits, the CM said that all the ongoing schemes were meant to help the destitute across the society.

“Tomorrow is the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and lal Bahadur Sashtri. Thoughts of the Prime Minister are in sync with theirs. He thinks that the country can develop only while walking in the path shown by them. The Prime Minister is coming to Santhal Pargana that has been fertile grounds for money lenders. He will be boosting the PM Mudra scheme meant to help the most vulnerable sections comprising of small traders, tea vendors, rickshaw pullers and unemployed educated youths,” said the CM.

He said that during the one month long drive over 1 lakh beneficiaries from different walks of life had been selected for disbursing credits in the tunes of Rs212 crore under the scheme from the State. The CM also mentioned about Khunti Civil Court where 180 kw capacity solar power plant has been readied within 5 months and 22 days by JREDA and would be inaugurated by the PM on Friday. Rs 2.22 crore has been spent on the plant that would supply clean power to the court as well as collectorate.

"The Prime Minister has also given 'give-it-up call' to leave lPG subsidy. We here planned to give 1 lakh lPG collections free of cost to BPl families identified under FSA. State would provide Rs 918.50 while Petroleum Ministry through companies would spend Rs 1600 against each collection. The PM would also launch the scheme at Dumka on Friday," said the CM clarifying that the beneficiary can purchase ISI marked stove from anywhere. The PM would also inaugurate conservation drive for Maluti Temples online from Dumka.
