A number of beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana have migrated elsewhere in search of employment after taking first installment of Rs 40,000 for construction of house. Now the district administration is searching for them and has asked for filing FIR in two police stations in the district.
The block administration issued notices to the beneficiaries several times to complete the construction of their house. But, even after the notice, there was no effect on the beneficiaries and the construction did not start. When it was investigated, it was found that all the beneficiaries who did not start work are not in their village. They have migrated in other states in search of job.
Finally, BDO Jago Mahto filed an application for registering FIR against the 182 beneficiaries in Garhwa Police station for recovery of the first installment amount. Meral BDO also filed an application with Meral Police Station for lodging FIR against 134 beneficiaries who have not started construction of housing work after taken first installment.
There is a problem for beneficiaries whose bank account is under the Jan Dhan Yojana neither they can be deposited Rs 40,000 nor they can be withdrawn of Rs 40,000 at a time. Garhwa BDO confirmed the news and said there are many beneficiaries who have migrated elsewhere for employment.
