CM Raghubar Das today said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be visiting the State on January 5 and will lay the foundation stone for construction of Mandal Dam in Palamu. Das said the long awaited Mandal Dam project would finally see the green light as PM Narendra Modi would lay a foundation for construction of the Dam which would be built at a cost of Rs 2500 crore. He said that during Modi's stint as the Chief Minister of Gujarat he had brought the water from the Sabarmati river to the area of Kutch through pipelines and same model would be replicated in the State as the water from the Soan River would be brought through pipelines to address the drinking water and irrigation needs of Palamu and Garhwa districts and the foundation of the same project would also be laid by him on that day.
