Ranchi Police have arrested PLFI's dreaded zonal commander cum Jharkhand State Committee member Krishna Yadav alias Sultan ji on Friday. A magazine-mounted pistol, five live bullets and a mobile phone were seized from him. A 9 mm carbine, six live bullets and a blanket were recovered on his information. He was arrested from McCluskieganj police station area adjacent to Ranchi.
Ranchi SSP Chandan Kumar Sinha said in a press conference that Yadav’s used to extort levy from businessmen, crusher and brick kiln owners by intimidating them and if the levy is not paid, then he committed arson, did firing and hurled bombs at the workplace and committed murders. A total of 51 serious cases are registered against him in the police file.
The SSP said that information was received that Yadav has come to Gurgudgarha Ghobighat of Kuru police station area. On receiving the information, the police went there to raid, but by then he had left from there. After this, information was received that Sultan along with his squad members is hiding in the forest near the road going from Nakta Pahad to Harhu Basaria in the McCluskieganj police station area of Ranchi. He is planning to carry out a big incident.
On the information received, a team was formed without delay under the leadership of Rural SP Sumit Kumar Agarwal and under the supervision of Khalari DSP Ramnarayan Chaudhary. The formed team laid siege to the given location and raided and caught Krishna Yadav. At that time, a pistol, five bullets and a mobile were seized from him. On his information, a carbine, six live bullets and a blanket were recovered from a black bag kept in a ruined house in Ambatand forest.
In his statement to the police, Sultan revealed many important secrets. He told that he had joined PLFI in the year 2014. Seeing his activism and work, his stature kept increasing in the organization. Presently, he was promoted and made a member of the Jharkhand State Committee. He further told that some weapons are hidden near the drain in the forest on the border of Nakta Pahad and Chandwa police station area. Some squad members are also taking shelter there.
After this, the police started a search operation on foot at the place mentioned by Sultan. Meanwhile, the cunning Sultan pushed the police and freed the rope and started running. While running away, he fell into a rocky pit and got injured. The police arrested him again. At present, he is admitted in RIMS, where he is undergoing treatment.
Sinha said that Yadav in the morning of 23 March 2021, Yadav had escaped by dodging the police. Since then the police have been searching for him.
Khalari DSP Ram Narayan Choudhary, Khalari Station in charge Inspector Vijay Kumar Singh, Mccluskieganj Station in charge Govind Kumar, SI Chandan Kumar Gupta, Ritesh Kumar Mahato and Deepak Kumar Sahu played a crucial role in arresting him.
