Plaint filed against activist for pasting NaMo stickers

A complaint has been filed against Jharkhand Convener of ‘NaMo Mantra’ Sanjay Seth and others allegedly for forcibly pasting NaMo stickers on the car of one Rudra Pratap Singh while he was on the way to Ranchi from Dhanbad. According to Singh, the road was also obstructed by the NaMo Mantra members who were forcibly pasting sticker on the passing by vehicles.

“I have lodged a complaint against Seth and others who obstructed my way and forcibly pasted sticker on my car today twice at Firayalal and Booty More,” said Singh. NaMo Mantra is a social outfit started by volunteers in Karnataka.

According to Singh, a group of people first obstructed his way while he was on the way to Ranchi alongwith his family members on Thursday and despite his objections forced him to paste ‘NaMo mantra’ sticker. “I told them that I am not a follower of (Narendra) Modi and pasting stickers on the vehicles will not bring votes for him, but despite my objections they pasted stickers on my car,” he added. “Again, they repeated the same while I was crossing Albert Ekka Chowk on Friday,” he said.

Kotwali Police confirming about the complaint said that proper action will be taken against Seth if the evidences are found to be true. “I have received the complaint and will investigate into the matter and take adequate steps if someone is found guilty in the matter,” said Officer in charge of Kotwali Police Station.

Seth, on the other hand, calling the complaint as politically motivated said that they are law abiding workers of ‘NaMo Mantra’ who do not take law in their hands.

“This is a politically motivated gimmick as the complainant could have called the police then and there while he was being forced to paste sticker on his car,” said Seth. “I will not hesitate to go to jail for Modi if needed as sticking stickers on vehicles with the consent of the owner of the vehicle is not a crime,” he added.

According to Seth, Modi lives in the heart of the people and political parties like Congress are now apprehensive that they might lose ground in the upcoming elections.

Jharkhand wing of ‘NaMo Mantra’ launched a sticker campaign in Ranchi on Wednesday in order to popularize the name and vision of BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi. The members of ‘NaMo Mantra’ have recently started sticker drive and have been pasting stickers on their vehicles with the text – NaMo Mantra Jharkhand, ‘Modi lao - Desh Bachao’ on it.
