In its attempt to reach out to the common people at his doorstep Office of the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) on Friday started ‘PF Aapke Dwar’ programme at FJCCI building in Ranchi.  Under the programme both employer and the employees will be made aware of the benefits of the Universal Account Number (UAN) and the process of its allotment.

EPF officials also explained the process of online payment by the employees as other new programmes introduced by EPF through a power point presentation.

“We have put our foot forward towards solving the problems of employers and the employees as well. It is time now both for the employers and employees to play positive roles and take advantage of online service offered by the office of EPF,” said EPF Commissioner-I Samrendra Kumar.

He said that online payment of EPF return has already been started from May 15, 2015 and  requested the employees to get their ECR registration done as soon as possible. The employees will have to face problems while filing their monthly online payments otherwise, he added. “Those who have not received EPF codes can get them online and PF account number given to  the employees, provided to them manually, is now given on line under UAN,” said the Commissioner.

Kumar further said that the next step will be for the pensioners so that they will not have to stand in long queue any more at the EPF office. They will only have to link their UAN with AADHAAR and bank account number online; pension will directly be credited to their bank accounts. The only thing they will have to do is to prove that they are alive, he said.

The workshop to make people aware of the EPF facilities are being organized at various places across the Country from May 15 to 25, during which both employers as well as employees’ doubts regarding the EPF will be cleared by the officials.

EPF Nodal officer RR Sahay though a power point presentation requested the employers to do KYC seeding of their employees as soon as possible. The process could also be done in bulk. “The employers should also get their digital signature approved from the EPF office so that the benefits could be availed by their employees,” Sahay said.

Several businessmen coming from different parts of Ranchi during the workshop also put their pension and registration related problems which were duly solved by the EPF officials.

FJCCI General Secretary Pawan Sharma, lauding the initiative taken by the office of EPF offered to set up a permanent help desk in the Chamber building so that the problems of employers going there could be easily taken care of.
