On the last day of the Winter Session of Jharkhand Legislative Assembly, Chief Minister Hemant Soren addressed the House targeting the Opposition BJP. Soren, without naming BJP, said that people with ‘Manuwadi’ mentality have ruined the State as these people have looted the State's rich mineral resources. “Due to these people (of Manuwadi mentality) there has been religious unrest in the name of Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs and Christians since 2014. Our government is working hard in creating a peaceful environment in the State.” The CM further said that in this connection, the State Assembly recently passed the law against mob lynching.

The CM also stated that despite the State having rich mineral resources, Jharkhand is a backward State. There is backwardness, malnutrition and unemployment in this state despite having 42 per cent minerals of the country.
