People hopeful of 'achey din' under NaMo leadership

Optimism of ‘achey din’ in NDA’s (National Democratic Alliance) reign was reinforced again as Prime Minister Narendra Modi beguiled people with his powerful speech loaded with promises and asserted the government’s unwavering stand on inclusive growth of the country.

Modi was today addressing people at an event organized at Prabhat Tara Ground, Ranchi which was also a witness to the promises made by the popular leader during lok Sabha election campaign.

Thousands turned up at the ground and unmindful of the rain stood firm to listen Modi as the PM and attempted to decipher the meaning of each word said by him and testified it to be a harbinger of ‘achey din’ (better days).  As Modi shared vision of the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP)-led government he reaffirmed the optimism that has been building up since he was declared PM-designate by the Party. Sensibility prevailed among people for whom it is too early to question Modi about promises of ‘achey din’.

“It will take time to undo what has been in 60 years. We should give him time if we want to see better days which I am sure will definitely come. We have also heard his August 15 speech. He was pragmatic that day and today as well,” said Gulab Chand, a resident of JP Market. The most popular leader of the party came with baggage of promises for households among others and opened it up to the cheer of women and those who are still dreaming of adopting the cleaner method of cooking at their home. Modi promised that the gas-pipe line project will increase the coverage of households in time to come.

“He has promised that he will make cooking gas reach every household. We are hopeful of that because his aura conveys sincerity and dedication for making people’s lives better. It is still early days but given the kind of background he had before becoming a mass leader itself says that he is a hard working man and will not rest until ‘achey din’,” said Gita Devi, a resident of Ambedkar Nagar in Dhurwa.

Interestingly people have created their own definition of better times and look at the promises of ‘achey din’ through the prism which depicts only one aspect of development. Job being one of the prime concerns of today’s younger generation is incidentally the only aspect of development that the generation considers would signify good times.

“Achey din will never come unless youths get jobs. We do pin our hope on the PM to deliver but as of now we are far away from what has been promised. His (Modi) government is just few months old so people will wait but it will not mind changing the government if promises remain on paper,” said Majid, a resident of Mausibari.

Irrespective of definitions of ‘achey din’ people were unanimous about waiting patiently for the promises to be fulfilled. “People mock promises of ‘achey din’ but it cannot be fulfilled in a day. We need to give him (Modi) time,” said Imtiyaz Hussain.
