PDS dealers in Palamu will be on the health radar as here come all age groups of people for ration.
Stating this, new deputy commissioner Palamu, Shashi Ranjan, who joined here on July 16 said, “Our fleet of PDS dealers will be scanned for health protocol. There has been an episode where one PDS dealer had tested positive who made a spectacular come back but nevertheless this group of people needs to be more taken care of.”
Ranjan said during this pandemic there is not much of choice as it is Covid 19 and the other is the flow of economy.
The DC said, “I understand a balance between the two is the need of the hour. As regards testing of shop keepers as urged by the Palamu chamber of commerce and industries I believe it is to be done in a phased manner and not in the whole hog fashion.” On fruit vendors, eatable vendors, tea vendors Ranjan said,
“These are the real strugglers and the administration is sensitive towards their issues.”
Asked that there is a spurt in Covid 19 containment zones in urban or semi urban areas like Harihurganj, Chhaterpur ( sub urban) and Daltonganj ( urban) to which Ranjan said “ Here there is a greater mobility of people and as such there are containment zones.”
On Palamu’s sealing of borders with Bihar at Harihurganj, Hussainabad Ranjan said, “We do not disband any entry on our side but the comer has to follow a strict passage protocol which is a health safeguard.”
“We have deployed magistrates at the entry exit on the borders with Bihar and a close vigil is on since a comer here from Bihar is to undergo home quarantine for 14 days and if the person is found a flouter of it then our men are around to keep such a flouter in the institutional quarantine,” said the DC in a tough tone.
Reminded that there are labourers who now want to return to their previous work places outside the state but find it too hard to travel to which DC said, “ There is no embargo if they desire to go to their previous work places.”
Two officials of the PNB branch Daltonganj R K Ambashta senior branch manager and V S Murari branch manager today handed down 10 litres of sanitizer and 400 N 95 pieces of masks to DC Ranjan.
