Police control room will run on the lines of 108 ambulance service to ensure quick response on receipt of information. Central control room will be set up at Bhopal with the cooperation of ambulance service. Home Minister Uma Sshankar Gupta discussed this proposal with senior police officers here on Thursday. Phone number of police control room will also be 100.
The Home Minister directed to send a team of police officers to Hyderabad to study this system. He said that in-charges of police stations should chalk out detailed reports after discussions with public representatives and other organisations. This system has been launched in Andhra Pradesh since April 2013. The scheme has been accredited by National Police Mission of the Union Government.
Additional DGP Telecommunications Anvesh Mangalam informed that all control rooms in the state will be linked with telephone number 100 of the central police control room at Bhopal. PCR vans will be kept in readiness at all district headquarters and important police stations. Soon after receipt of information at central control room, van stationed in the nearest police station will be rushed to the incident spot.
Recording of entire action taken by van in-charge and his conversation with control room will be uploaded on web portal also. The recording of action taken earlier by police station in-charge will be seen by the senior officers and ensure separate action if the action is not satisfactory. Feedback will also be taken from the informer of the incident. Response time of PCR van will also be recorded. Report will also be lodged as per requirement. Thus, a person need not visit police station to lodge complaint.
