PCCFs hold parleys with JVNl MD in Betla

Fate of 43 villages falling in tiger reserve Palamu hangs in balance as there can be no electrification of these villages without the approval of energy plan first by State wild life board and then by the national board of wild life.

JVNl is now caught in this mess. On Wednesday PCCF Sanjay Kumar and PCCF lal Ratnakar Singh held a meeting with Rahul Purwar MD JVNl over this issue in Betla. PTR has 97 villages. Electrification has been completed in 54 villages out of these 97.

PTR did not raise any voice then when these 54 villages were electrified but when it came to electrification in the remaining 43 villages PTR is up in arms and is referring to energy plan and its approval both at State level and national level by wild life board.

Deputy director north of PTR Anil K Mishra said that in Wednesday's meeting two PCCFs,  RCCF and  CF prevailed upon the JUVNl MD Rahul Purwar to first prepare an exhaustive energy plan for its approval by board of wild life at state and in Delhi too.

MIshra said no electrification can be allowed since it interferes with the provisions of forest conservation act nor forest right act can be over used to have electrification.
