Patriotic fervour at Central varsity

The Central University of Jharkhand celebrated Independence Day at both campuses—Brambe and Cheri Manatu. Vice chancellor Prof Darlando T Khathing unfurled the Tricolour.

At Brambe, Professor Khathing while recalling the struggle and sacrifice of scores of people across the country to earn this prized moment on August 15 in 1947 advised the students, faculty members and staff on the ground realities of interdependency. “Working and living together through support and encouragement of each other is the need of the hour to build a truly united Independent country”, Prof Khathing said.At Cheri Manatu, the site for permanent campus, the vice chancellor made no bone about his displeasure over the fact that paucity of fund is coming in the way of smooth progress of construction.

“The university received only fifty per cent of initial allocation”, he said.“We do not want to stop the work for once it is done then it is difficult to gain momentum”, he said adding the message being sought to be spread by some people with vested interest that fund being “misused” stood no ground at all.“You can see for yourself the work done so far and if all goes well we shall start our new session at the earliest from new campus”.He praised the local people at Cheri Manatu and the contractors for their unstinted support.
