Although being a fake one, the three-day bandh from June 12 to June 14 created much panic in two days among people of the State. The impact of bandh mostly affected the passengers travelling by buses, who had to either choose alternate traveling days or travel by smaller vehicles.

“I came to Ranchi to see my family and had to return on June 12 to Durgapur.

Due to the bandh called by the Maoists no buses were plying, as a result I had to cancel my plan and now I am planning to return after June 14,” said Sandeep Ganguly of HB Road.

“My coaching classes were scheduled to get over by June 11 and I was eagerly waiting to pack my bags and go home since a bandh is called by the Maoists, I fear to travel alone and just waiting for June 14 so that I can go home for my vacations,” said Jyoti Yadav a student residing near lalpur Chowk.

Passengers were found booking small vehicles to travel to other districts as it was necessary. “As there was a family function it was important for us to be in the function. As a result of bandh called by the Maoists we feared to travel by bus and since the ceremony could not be delayed, we had to book this ambulance,” said a person with his family travelling to latehar.
