Directive from state government over not releasing charges other than the tuition fee for session 20-21and 21-22 owing to Coronavirus spread seems to have no meaning for private schools including the DAV group of schools.
Despite directive the schools of this group is forcing parents to clear dues of annual fee, establishment fee besides other charges or face problems, said parents. On the issue hundreds of parents today held demonstrations outside DAV Koylanagar school with posters and placards demanding withdrawal of the demand and implementation of the government orders in this regards.
It's worth mentioning that Dhanbad District Education officer ( DEO) had served show cause notice to this school besides others schools earlier this month after complaints and had directed to reply by March 14. However, schools of this group besides other private schools have not responded to the notice till date and have threatened to debar students from attending school if the said fees were not cleared .
The parents' protest was against harassment to the students and indentation of the government directive .
One of the parents under condition of anonymity said, " wards are harassed by school management even though we have paid the tuition fee. Now they claim that those fees are part of the "salary" of teachers the parents would have to pay".
Each of the parents would have to pay in-between Rs 12 to 15 thousands on an annual basis, he mentioned.
