Protesting the hiked monthly fees by the Kendriya Vidyalaya in Kendrapada district, guardians of children under the banner of the Abhibhbak Sangha staged a dharna in front of the school on Friday.The irate parents also submitted a memorandum to the district Collector-cum-chairman of the school seeking his interference to help them and exempt the enhanced school monthly fees (VVN and computer fees).
“Initially, the school used to admit students with a monthly fee of `240 for VVN and `50 for computer as per the rules of the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan. later, the school principal hiked the monthly fees in 2013. Even after the move was opposed Statewide during that time, the Principal ofthe school has again issued notice to guardians asking them to deposit the enhanced monthly fees with effective from April 1, 2013,” said Abhibhabak Sangha district president Debashis Acharya.The principal has also directed the parents to deposit the arrears for the increased fees, which has become a burden for almost all the parents, said Acharya.
