Agitating para teachers under different umbrella organisations of Jharkhand Para Teachers Sangh will conduct a meeting on December 30 to chalk out further strategy of their ongoing movement. According to the member of Ekikrit Para Sikshak Sangharsh Morcha (EPSSM), Bajrang Prasad, the meeting will be conducted in all the 24 districts of the State.
“The meeting will be conducted under the guidance of block heads, general secretaries including the treasurers to intensify the movement across the State.
We will keep pushing for our demands until the State government accepts the proposal.
Further, the para-teachers will discuss the details of the plans outlined during the block level meet at the State-level meeting on January 2. The State-level meeting will be conducted at Ranchi,” said Bajrang Prasad.
Notably, the para-teacher associations on December 27 had conducted a meeting with Education Minister, Neera Yadav, however, the dialogue failed as the State government is not ready to acknowledge the list of demands of para teachers – job regularisation and ‘Equal pay for Equal work’.
The para-teachers had launched ‘Ghera Daalo, Dhera Daalo’ programme at the residences of BJP ministers, parliamentarians and legislators to push for their demand from November 25.
Notably, around 67,000 para-teachers across the State are on an indefinite strike since mid-October forcing over more than 12,000 to 14,000 government schools to shut.
