Para teachers should resume their work, then the party will hold talk with them in conducive environment, said State BJP president Laxman Gilua on Tuesday.

Addressing a press conference at party headquarters in the state capital today, Gilua said, “As the education of the students is affected badly by the strike of the para teachers the party is requesting that first of all they should resume their duties. After that a conducive environment will be formed and the party will talk to them in such environment, because in current situation it is difficult to take any further step.” Regularization of para teachers is very difficult for any state government, he added.

Speaking on the occasion Gilua said, “In the past the government had fulfilled some of their demands including increase in stipend, welfare fund and stated that in the state governments job the para teachers will get 50 per cent reservation. This time also the government is ready to fulfill some of their due demands. The government has also increased their retirement age to 60 years.” The government will also fulfill their demand of matrimonial leave, he added.

Citing example of other states like-Madhya Pradesh (MP), Chhatisgarh and Uttar Pradesh (UP) Gilua said,

“In MP the para teachers have been recruited through VYAPAM with proper advertisement and in Chhatisgarh the government has recruited para teachers with proper newspaper advertisements but in Jharkhand para teachers have been recruited by village committees. The Supreme Court has quashed the regularization of ‘Siksha Mitra’ in UP.”

Replying to the question of Kolebira state assembly by-election the party president said that according to prior seat sharing formula it was a seat of the BJP so this time also the party will surely contest from there.
