Pandu and Murumatu - new political pilgrims' addresses in Palamu

Published on:

Pandu and Murumatu in Palamu have become new addresses of political parties. On Friday State BJP president Deepak Prakash, Rajya Sabha member Aditya Sahu, BJP MLA Ramchander Chandravanshi, BJP MLA Alok Chourasia, BJP MLA Pushpa Devi, senior party men namely Manoj Kumar Singh, Amit Tiwary etc reached Pandu and Murumatu and took stock of the situation and interacted with the ousted maha dalits there.

Aditya Sahu speaking to the Pioneer said a crime against humanity has been perpetrated by the minority community and the administration here is just doing a perfunctory work by sending a few to the jail while the whole of the village Murumatu  should be penalised for the atrocities committed on the maha dalits there on August 29.

Sahu said no civil society permits anyone to desecrate anyone's faith or relics of faith but here the minority community people desecrated a small place of faith of the maha dalit and plundered 'Bel Patra,Tulsi and Urhul'.

The Rajya Sabha member said this is something which can't be tolerated at all. The wrong doers must be punished strictly by repeating Sahu.

Sahu said the dalits told them that they were on the land for generations. But, on the question that the dalit complainant of the FIR Sadai Mushar has written in his FIR lodged with the Pandu police station on August 30 that they were living on that piece of land for around 10 years Sahu said, "These people are too illiterate. They are made to put their thumb impression. They do not know what stuff is written there. You better ask your crew of media people here which is around us. They too have heard what these dalits told us."

The JMM team led by its district president Rajinder Sinha and senior leader Sannu Siddiqui and others too reached these places today.

JMM district president Sinha said, "We first of all met the dalits who said they were living there for over only 4 years but this incident happened to them. They demanded justice."

Sinha said, "The state government is going to give 25,000 rupees to each of the family heads for which their bank accounts would be opened soon."

The JMM district president said that the team then met members of the minority community which we found too scared and in panic following the turn of events.

Sinha said the minority community told us that everything was fine and amicable till some communal minded people gave a twist to the whole episode vitiating the entire atmosphere there. Sinha said there is a law of the land which is for everyone.

Sinha said the Murumatu incident was born out of land matters but the BJP is all out to gain political mileage by drawing a line between the two communities here.

Former MLA Radha Krishan Kishore, his son and his team had visited the site on Thursday, where he asked the dalits to settle on the piece of land which the district administration is going to give them. Kishore too condemned the episode which was all avoidable said sources.

A press note issued by the district public relation office here in Daltonganj read the vice chairman of the National Scheduled Caste Commission government of India  Arun Haldhar is set to visit the place of occurrence and meet the dalits there on Saturday.
