It is now BJP MP Palamu V D Ram who has taken pot shots at the government a day after senior BIP leader Babulal Marandi pulled up this government with working with ‘In charge’ officials at the top posts here in the state bureaucracy resulting in poor law and order situation with naxal menace rearing its head again .
MP V D Ram told this correspondent today on phone from Delhi “ It is a piece of news to me that state DGP post is being run by an in-charge. I have read Marandi ji’s reaction in this regard. I also feel this post is very sensitive and important and hence a regular one on this post is always desired without any more delay.”
Ram further said, “I know many state governments do have in charge on top posts. It has been so also in this State but the best course is to have a regular one on some such posts which every looks at.”
MP said if there are some exceptions in this regard of running vital posts with just in charge even then this cannot be made a rule as it is the government and its people that suffer acutely at the end.
Sources said it was Babulal Marandi, who is reported to have raised this issue of posts of Home Secretary and DGP being run by in charges.
Ram stepping in the political cup of Marandi and in the same vein asked the State government to explain as to how the post of Home Secretary here is also being run by an In-charge like the post of DGP.
He quipped, “If there is the scarcity of officers to fill up these posts ?”
“ This is no good a situation for any state be it our state Jharkhand as these two top posts Home Secretary and DGP are the beacons of the state bureaucracy and when there is this adhocism by way of in charge holding these posts the state bureaucracy is bound to sag down,” reiterated V D Ram.
V D Ram who is himself a former DGP of Jharkhand and is now a two term BJP MP from Palamu said, “ Frankly speaking the grip of an incharge of any department/ post cannot be that strong which a regular one can wield quite easily. It also raises eyebrows.”
