Facing life threats from a patient’s attendant, a Palamu doctor has written to the local police seeking protection.
Indian Medical Association (IMA) president of Daltaonganj, Dr Arun Shukla said that Dr. Ashok Kumar was threatened by attendant of a patient, Shanti Kuarn on October 29. The attendant, he said, threatened to burn Kumar alive if he caused any harm to Kuarn. He said the behavior of the attendant was unwarranted and unruly as Dr. Kumar did his best to treat the patient. If such incidents continue, then doctors might stop treating emergency cases in fear of attacks by their attendants, he added.
