THe Palamu district administration has recommended for initiation of disciplinary action against the government doctor, Dr Hari Om Prasad whose clinic was sealed on Saturday by the administration for medical malpractice said the DC Palamu Shashi Ranjan. DC said we are sending a report about this doctor to the state health department for the disciplinary action.
DC said his clinic which has been sealed will not be renewed for registration any further under the clinical establishment act. He said the administration is not inclined to lodge any FIR against Hari Om Prasad. Lodging FIR in such case does not necessitate reiterated the DC.
There are other tough measures to tame and contain such errant doctors he asserted.
DC continued saying the doctor did the most unethical thing by luring a orthopaedic case patient to undergo treatment in his clinic instead of the MMCH Daltonganj in whose OPD orthopaedic the patient had trolleyed first.
The thigh bone fracture patient got admitted in the clinic of Hari Om Prasad and there he was made to cough up 15,000 rupees in advance for the operation that was to cost him 28,000 rupees in all.
DC said the patient claimed he had with him the Ayushman Bharat Yojna card but despite this he was so brainwashed by the touts in the MMCH Daltonganj who are in cahoots with the doctor that he left the government MMCH Daltonganj and got admitted in the clinic of Hari Om Prasad.
DC said he took prompt action following a tweet made to him. An IAS probation officer A Agrawal and civil surgeon Palamu Dr Anil Kumar went to the said clinic under the order of the DC and collected all the facts which straightway pointed towards the malpractice and unethical mode of the doctor concerned to earn fast bucks from this patient.
Interestingly Hari Om Prasad had only recently joined the MMCH Daltonganj on deputation. He was earlier posted in the community health centre at Mahuadnr in Latehar district.
