Janta Durbar at Chak on Tuesday under Manatu block has proved that there is no forbidden territory in Palamu as set by the CPI (Maoist) a few years back. Here some months back security forces used to get their monthly ration from chopper that used to land and take off here for this purpose.
Only this October 22 Maoists Kundan, Kundun Tori Nitesh Kamlesh and others had triggered three 30 Kgs weight IEDs here to trap security forces drafted for the safety and security of builders of Chak Manatu road.
On December 6 DC Palamu Ameet Kumar and a number of officers including two lady officers sadar SDO Nancy Sahay and IAS probationer R Ramaiah reached Chak and spent more than two hours with the rustic folks.
Chak is notorious as here six years back A T Mathew was attacked by the Maoists.
When the officials reached here the poor thronged them for things they wanted and DC Ameet Kumar started on the right note when he said ' 90 ration card holders here are going without their monthly ration despite having ration cards just because of a technical snag which will be removed this December and from January these 90 ration card holders will start getting their ration'. Relief set in immediately.
Seventy six forest dwellers were given patta a document of right on this occasion here. However DC asked the residents of Chak as to why this panchayat is so laggard in matter of shouchalaya as there is no response from the residents here in this regard. He spoke about Majhouli panchayat under Manatu which is ODF and Bansi khurd panchayat is on the way to become ODF but Chak is where it was.
Security concern was evident most when DSP Heeralal Ravi whispered into the ears of Ameet Kumar requesting him to cut short his stay at Chak. Some villagers like Naseer Ansari demanded construction of boundary wall around their Qabristan, Ram Bilas Prasad demanded plus two high school as girls are to go to nearby Chatra district for intermediate courses and Vidya Sagar demanded better medi care here which the DC and his team heard with patience and showed no sign of any hurry to return.
Janta Durbar was held under the aegis of Manatu Action Plan and there was something for every one here like the senior citizen got blankets, school children their uniform, panchayat office bearers their three ready to use panchayat bhavan, , 17 aagan badi kendras for aagan badi officials pension to old agers and widows etc.
Under Manatu Action Plan REO is to build 14 roads here but 11 of them are caught in the mesh of forest clearance said DC. The prestigious Manatu CHak road too is fraught with fear of hidden IEDs said a resident there but construction of road is on.
DC said ' We have come here to bridge the gap between administration and the public'. However two bridges where not only flow water but deep within their beds Maoists hide their IEDs and blast it are to be constructed here which may take seven to eight months time.
A micro water supply under Manatu Action Plan catering to need of 50 households here at Chak is on the anvil.

Ameet Kumar encouraged women self help groups about which CM Raghubar Das is so particular about and these WSHGs were awarded credit linked fund to the tune of rupees 50, 000 too.
