Can a medical college be run with just 1 professor, 6 associate professors, 22 assistant professors, 4 tutors and 5 senior residents?” asked a ‘worried and concerned’ BJP MP V D Ram. Reeling out statistics V D Ram said 12 posts of professors, 18 of associate professors, 15 of assistant professors, 21 of tutors and 19 of senior residents are lying vacant here in this medical college. The MP said Medinirai medical college at Pokhraha in Daltonganj is reeling under acute crisis of faculties when a team of the National Medical Commission is due to arrive here for its evaluation and appraisal for recommendation of admissions for the session 2021- 22.
The MP said his fears are not misplaced that given the status of faculties here in this medical college the National Medical Commission would take any such decision beneficial to this college rather he said “ I see it quite inevitable that this medical college is destined again to forego admission for the second consecutive session 2021- 22 which defeats our very purpose of bringing medical education facility in the backward place like Palamu.”
The MP had no clue as to how the state government would fill these vacant posts here in view of the visit of the National Medical Commission.
He said if the state government brings in contractual faculties here as any emergency fill up then the government must ensure their is no discrimination in remuneration to faculties on contract.
From the sinking situation of the medical college here the MP moved on to another burning issue of local or regional language to be used in the job examination exclusive of Hindi saying “Now one minister of Jharkhand is beating his chest for inclusion of Maghi and Bhojpuri here in this region but this minister was a silent witness to the resolution passed by the government which raises eyebrows.”
The MP wanted to know from the state government to pronounce as to which dialect is spoken here in the Palamu region.
V D Ram advocated for the inclusion of Hindi quite logically and forcefully. He raised questions on the system of marks management also.
