Palamu administration has curtailed and curbed the liberty of elected woman representative at panchayat level or at zila parishad level.
Sources said the elected woman representatives had developed a fancy or taken a licence to send in their husbands or sons to represent them in official meetings here which was a blatant violation on their part.
Sources said this practice was on since the first panchayat and zila parishad election. There was no embargo imposed on the woman representatives. Sources said the elected woman representatives had begun to think that it was well within their right to send in their husbands or sons and these husbands and sons used to throw their weight in the meetings too
However DC Palamu Ameet Kumar has shown the woman representatives their limit. DC passed an order to his DPRO S K Pandey asking Pandey to notify his order wherein from now on wards no woman representative will have any liberty or licence to send in her husband or son to attened or preside over any meeting and if such a case of violation comes to the notice suitable action will be taken besides the concerned BDO CO DDC which ever authority may be will be held accountable.
DC Palamu Ameet Kumar has confirmed to have passed such an order which Kumar said has been notified by his DPRO ( district panchayati raj officer) S K Pandey. Speaking to The Pioneer Ameet Kumar said ' It is absurd if an elected woman representative skips self and sends in her husband or son to participate in official meeting where her representative will have no locus standi at all'.
Sources said the elected peoples' representatives ( barring MlAs and MPs)have been found crying that they have no power to wield but woman representatives have remained tongue tied on sending their sons and husbands in meetings.
