Palamu admin puts embargo on Maoist's immovable property

Palamu administration and police went tough with the sub zonal commander of CPI Maoist Kundan Yadav alias Brahamdeo Yadav of Manatu whose prime plot of land bought in Daltonganj and at Manatu’s two villages were put under embargo.

DSP Heeralal Ravi said the administration has put an embargo on the plots of land of the Maoist whose kin in whose names this Maoist has bought land now cannot sell, cannot construct any kaccha or pucca building or structure nor they can do any agricultural activities.

The DSP said the total value of these plots of land in Daltonganj and in Manatu’s two villages account for more than 22 lakhs.

Sources said this is the first case of its kind where an immovable property of a Maoist still at large has been so frozen or restrained from any commercial or agricultural activities.

Sources said Heeralal Ravi has conducted the with caution and seriousness as he maintained transparency since when the administration was putting this embargo in Manatu’s two villages Chak and Adourya he did this in presence of the Maoist Kundan Yadav’s brothers and relatives.

Kundan is a 10 year old notorious Maoist and carries a reward of 10 lakh and in this ten years of his being in this outlawed outfit he amassed wealth by way of huge levy collection said DSP Ravi.

Sources said DSP Ravi holds his own reputation as his action is described as fair and transparent and a proof of it was that on Friday he put this embargo on Kundan’s plots of land measuring 2.92 acres in Manatu Kundan’s men did not raise any whimper of protest at all.

Kundan has bought plots of land in names of his brothers and their wives.

Sources said police invoked section 24 and 25 of UAPA ( unlawful activity prevention act) against Kundan for putting an embargo on his land.

UAPA has booked people like Kobard Gandhi and Binayak Sen too.

Here Palamu administration used this to freeze the immovable property of this Maoist.

Sources said Kundan’s family members have the legal right to challenge this and if they succeed in convincing law that all these immovable property are bought with legal means and income then its restoration too is possible to this family but chances are too heavily odd against Kundan as he bought it with levy money.
