Palamu Admin holds KCC camps at block, circle level

Reluctant banks not coming forward to credit Kisan loans under KCC have been cornered by the state government when it asked DCs in their respective districts to start holding KCC (Kisan Credit Card) camps at block and revenue circle level.

DC Shashi Ranjan said four such KCC camps were held one each at Sadar, Satbarwa, Naudeeha Bazar and Hussainabad block and circle offices on Tuesday where more than 1,600 farmers submitted their forms for KCC loans.

The DC said more than 800 farmers alone applied for KCC loans in Hussainabad out of the total applied forms which are more than 1,600.

Ranjan said these forms so submitted by the farmers were on the spot received by the bankers of the respective banks located in the block for onward processing for sanctioning of the loans and then its disbursement.

Sources said banks which have so received KCC filled forms are now duty bound to process it for grant of loan and its disbursement as well and now no dilly dallying can be any more resorted to by the banks.

A banker asking for anonymity said the district administration should not be in any illusion that KCC will be coming so easily to the farmers as banks spend or waste a lot of time in sanctioning of loan and its disbursement on any pretext that they may find suitable for them.

This banker said administration has now handed down the KCC filled forms to the bankers which they were so refusing to receive earlier and thus the first hurdle in KCC has been overcome but there are still many ‘breakers’ in the banks for sanctioning of loan and its disbursement under KCC.

The DC said around two lakh thirty two thousand farmers are being covered by the PM Kissan Samman Nidhi Yojna and their further getting covered by KCC will boost their agricultural capabilities.
