The Sixth Annual Technical Exhibition of SNTI, Tata Steel, TechEx-2014 was inaugurated by Jacobus Schraven, director, Tata Steel, B Muthuraman, vice chairman, Tata Steel, Dr Karl Ulrich Koehler, director, Tata Steel, Anand Sen, president, TQM & Steel Business, Tata Steel, Suresh Dutt Tripathi, VP, HRM, Tata Steel, PN Singh, president TWU, BK Dinda, Gen. Secretary, TWU while all VPs/ Dy VPs of Tata Steel, other dignitaries and esteemed guests were present during the inaugural function.
Other senior executives from Tata Steel, TCIl, Tata Motors, NTTF, TRF, Tata Sponge, Tata Metaliks ltd and Jusco were also present. In line with this year’s theme ‘Realising Dreams Responsibly,’ the young trainees at SNTI, NTTF and employees of Tata Steel and other associate companies have made a concerted effort towards developing innovative models based on the principles of science and engineering. The Mobile Applications for Tata Steel was also inaugurated during the TechEx-2014.
Cyrus P Mistry, chairman, Tata Group visited the exhibition and interacted with the participants. He was accompanied by Mr TV Narendran, MD, Tata Steel, Mr Koushik Chatterjee, Group Executive director, finance & corporate, Dr Nirmalaya Kumar, member group executive council and other dignitaries. Mr Mistry appreciated the efforts and complimented the entire team for a good show.
Amid a vibrant educational atmosphere at TechEx-2014, the exhibits stand testimony to the technical prowess of the young talents. A total of 39 creative ideas with working models having a potential of wide application in various manufacturing industries and community are on display in the eight clusters i.e. Safety, Environment, Process Technology, Mechatronics, Innovation, Domestic Appliances, GSM Application.
