The Saturday midterm conference of orthopedic surgeons in Betla if on one hand has brushed up the knowhow of the orthopedic surgeons coming from Maharashtra, Karnataka, West Bengal Bihar Jharkhand and Rohtak etc has also enlivened the image of Palamu which outside Jharkhand is known as dangerous place on planet but with the assemblage of 63 doctors, some with their wives and young daughters here without any fear or apprehension will go a long way to attract more professionals here now opined the president of Palamu Orthopedic Surgeon Club Dr Arun Shukla.
Sources said many ortho surgeons had too many queries regarding Palamu, its land mine explosions, its ambush, its encounters between naxals and security forces here and it was a tough time for Dr Shukla and his team to make them believe that today’s Palamu is far different from the Palamu of either nineties and first 15 years of 2000.
Image of Palamu has changed and new vistas have opened for professionals to converge here reiterated Dr Shukla who had a word of praise for his entire ortho fraternity here in Ranchi, Patna , latehar, Garhwa and Palamu saying our own Dr S K Raman, N K Rajak, Dr Vijay Kumar Singh and others worked hard to make it a success.
Sources said never in the annals of Palamu in the last 30 years there had been such a convergence of professionals in Palamu just for the reasons of extremism and its most ill effects. Here the ortho surgeons came by all means by air upto Ranchi, by train and by road! None had any complaint against the organizers rather everyone said, “A class arrangement far better than state level meet’.
Residents of Betla said, “We look for the day when a horde of industrialists and entrepreneurs descend here like these ortho surgeons to set up their job giving industrial units in this district of latehar and in adjoining district Palamu.”
