The inaugural function of the 2-day induction-cum- orientation programme for the new batch of the MBA course of session 2018-20 was organised today at the Institute of Management Studies, Ranchi University, Ranchi.
The programme was inaugurated by Dr Shailendra Singh, Director, IIM, Ranchi, in the presence of Dr. Ramesh Kumar Pandey, Vice Chancellor, Ranchi University, Ranchi Dr. Kamini Kumar, Pro Vice Chancellor, Ranchi University, Ranchi, Dr Satish Chandra Gupta, Director, IMS, and the Course Coordinators, Dr. Mukund Chandra Mehta and Dr. Jyoti Prakash. All teachers of the Institute were present during the occasion.
The Director, Dr. S. C. Gupta in his welcome address stressed upon the need for persistence and discipline. He advised the students to keep working hard and try to achieve more in life.
He assured full cooperation of the Institute for the overall development of the students. Dr. Kamini Kumar exhorted the students to work hard so that they could get the right opportunities at the right time. Dr. Ramesh Kumar Pandey, Vice Chancellor of Ranchi University shared many inspirational stories on leadership and personality development. He assured full support of the University for the development of the Institute. The Chief Guest, Dr. Shailendra Singh shared five success mantras with the students - (1) There are no universal laws of success (success is always subjective) (2) Self-awareness i.e. understanding one’s strengths and weaknesses (3) Self-management i.e. channelising the strengths for achievement of goals (4) Empathy i.e. the ability to connect to people around and (5) Networking i.e. managing and expanding relationships. He shared a variety of inspirational anecdotes on personal development from mythology to the contemporary business world. The Vote of Thanks was proposed by Dr. Mukund Chandra Mehta. The programme was made successful by Amit Shekhar Tirkey, Pooja Kumar, Dr. Nalin Ranjan Tripathy, Dr. Soni Kumari, Dr. Shilpi Abha Khalkho, Dr. Manisha Kumari, Malvika Sharma, Alka, Dashna Gopa Minz, Dr. Iftekhar Equbal, Dr. Zakir, Kajal Deo Rai and all support staff who were actively present during the occasion.
