Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee (JPCC) Chief and Finance Minister, Rameshwar Oraon is on a four-day visit to Delhi to discuss on various organisational issues to the party's high command.
Talking to media persons in New Delhi on Monday, Oraon said that a 20-point monitoring committee will be formed soon. “Only the party workers will get proper place in the committee, party in-charge RPN Singh himself is taking all the matters seriously,” he added.
The party State Chief said that assembly elections are going to be held in West Bengal and Assam in the next few months. “West Bengal has a large border adjacent to Jharkhand, while a large number of people of Jharkhand live in Assam as well. In support of the party candidates, Congress leaders and workers of Jharkhand will also cooperate in the election of these two states. Continuation discussions are being held with the party high command and in-charge in this regard, the schedule of programs regarding the election tour will be finalized when the time comes.
The Congress Legislature Party leader Alamgir Alam has also visited the two-day West Bengal tour,” he added.
In response to a question asked about the upcoming budget of the State Government, Oraon said that despite all the adverse circumstances, the State Government waived the loan of farmers in accordance with its election manifesto, up to Rs 50, 000 to nine lakh farmers of the State. At the same time, there has also been a huge success in providing food grains to the poor and needy families and fifteen lakh poor people have been linked with ration cards and now people have started getting green ration cards, not just red and yellow,” he added.
Oraon said that it is natural that senior Congress leaders will also be consulted in the course of the Delhi tour and the suggestions made by them will be included in the budget for the coming budget.
