Opposition to raise pressing issues post festivals

The opposition parties in State have been planning to fan somewhat quiet from outside but burning from inside kinds of issues like land acquisition in various parts of State and impact of anti-evangelism laws post festivals this month. Senior leaders of both Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (JVM) and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), two important opposition parties, have said that their parties would go all out against Government’s so called anti-poor steps which according to them have led large rural population of the State towards starvation on the name of development.

“We are living in a state of tyranny where even exercising legal rights like peaceful protest against government could lead someone to jail. Anyone who has come on the roads to protest against any of the government policies has found himself thrown into jail after we the people of State elected this BJP Government to lead us. But we were not afraid of it ever, and we are not afraid now. I must tell that we are in process of uniting the opposition to fight for well-being of the State and its people,” said JVM general secretary and Poreyahat (Godda) MlA Pradeep Yadav on Saturday.

He added that the party (JVM) was planning to take its fight against tweaked land laws, especially removed Social Impact Assessment clause in land acquisition in State by the government to a conclusion. “But before that we have to evaluate our fight for the causes we have been fighting so far, direction of fight and outcomes of it. We will do it sooner and decide further course of action,” said Yadav.

The only apparent problem for the opposition is that it has demonstrated only issue based unity so far and has somewhere failed to hide differences among parties post extinction of the issue. “Our protest against government on various issues is going to only intensify in weeks to come. And we will do it by our own, everyone else is doing by their own. We will not allow the Government to take the opposition for granted in and outside the house. The party has been moving in right direction to sharpen its edge against government,” said JMM General Secretary Vinod Pandey.
