Clearing the Government’s position over a much delayed domicile policy for the State, Chief Minister Das today said that the Government’s intention was very clear on the policy. “We are in majority still’ we wanted the interests of everyone staying here could be protected. So, we wanted a consensus on the issue and held several rounds of meetings with leaders of all parties,” Das said.
The CM said that the Opposition parties were not supportive as they used to maintain double standard on the issue. “They used to say something in the meeting with us and when the meeting was over they used to speak something else outside (to the media). Therefore, the Personnel Department sent them letters to submit their stand on the domicile issue in written. But, even today they did not send us their replies,” he said.
