Principal Opposition parties in the State- Congress and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) have strongly criticized the Union Budget-19 tabled by Union Minister for Finance, Nirmala Sitaraman on Friday. Attacking Central Government led by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) both parties have said that there is nothing for common men and poor in the budget.
Both the parties termed it as budget for corporate and big capitalists.
Hitting hard on BJP Government for the budget JMM Executive president and Leader of Opposition in the State Assembly, Hemant Soren said that how much money will come, how much it will spend, which field will receive how much money is not clear in the budget speech. “One lakh crores will be earned by selling government companies In the coming days, for the poor and the oppressed of the country, employment opportunities in government companies will also be eliminated and reservation in jobs will end,” said Soren.
Speaking on the issue of no provision for common people in the budget Soren said that no relief has been given to the middle class and the salaried class. Companies and traders whose transaction is up to Rs 400 crores were exempted from tax. “Tax on every citizen of the country was imposed by charging Rs 1 per liter of surcharge on petrol and diesel. If the government increased the excise tax on petrol and diesel, then the states would also have a stake in the money, but the states do not get any share in the money coming from surcharge. People of Jharkhand will pay taxes on diesel, but the Jharkhand government will not get any money from it to spend on the public. It is a conspiracy to make the State governments slaves,” he added.
Lambasting on union budget Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee, Chief Ajoy Kumar said that the budget is bogus and nothing new in this budget. “Old promises have been repeated once again. By increasing disinvestment on the name of new India it is conspiracy to make the country slave. There is no scheme for employment generation and there is no initiative for it. This budget is full box of false promises. Increase of Rs One in sell of Petrol and Diesel will put extra load on common men,” he added.
“This Budget is beneficial for the growth of corporate and big capitalists and it against the poor, oppressed as there is no provision for employment generation.
