Terming the break-up of the 17-year old coalition of BJP and Janata Dal (United) as an opportunity to form a majority Government, State BJP President Ravindra Rai said that the party workers now are feeling relaxed. Rai was speaking to media persons after holding a legislative body meeting at the party headquarters in Ranchi on Sunday. The demand for dissolution of Jharkhand Assembly was reiterated during the meeting.
"The BJP workers are feeling better and relaxed after the break-up. We will be benefited by this move now, as we have a better opportunity to form a majority Government in the State," said Rai. Former Chief Minister Arjun Munda was of the opinion that the Governor's decision to keep the Jharkhand Assembly in suspended animation was unfortunate and was a part of a conspiracy by the Congress party.
"The Governor House, in its letter to the centre had said that the Assembly should not be dissolved as there were still some parties who wanted to form the Government. The Governor house must disclose the names of the parties which wanted to form the Government," asked Munda.
Munda said that the State BJP will protest against making mockery of democracy in the State and a delegation will meet the President Pranab Mukherjee soon requesting to intervene.
Munda also pointed out that the law and order situation has also deteriorated in the state during the President's Rule. "The present Government is not sensitive to the incidents which are taking place in the state," said Munda. Referring to the recent incident where a DSP probing the cash for vote scam during Municipal elections in Ranchi was transferred, Munda said, "Political influence in the transfer postings of the officials is also rampant during the President rule in the State." He said that the Governor House must be more vigilant that the democratic values are maintained in the State.
The BJP will hold working committee meeting on June 22 and 23 in Ranchi where the current political scenario will be discussed extensively as well as to chalk our further plan of action. Munda also said that to fulfill the target of formation of the State, a majority Government is must in Jharkhand and the BJP is preparing for that whole heartedly.
Calling the end of 17-year old coalition of BJP and JD (U) as unfortunate, Munda said that JD (U) was interfering in the internal matters of BJP which was unacceptable to the party.
