The who’s who of opposition parties in Jharkhand will meet at leader of opposition Hemant Soren’s residence in Ranchi on Wednesday to decide their course of action on road to the assembly elections slated in Jharkhand later this year.

Addressing the media on Saturday, JMM General Secretary Supriyo Bhattacharya said that leaders of all opposition and likeminded parties including Left and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) are invited to discuss the strategy for the upcoming polls. The JMM hopes that all likeminded parties will jointly take decisions that will help in defeating the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) here, he added.

Criticising the State Government for poor law and order situation and recent mob lynching incident in Saraikela, Bhattacharya said that the people of the state are disappointed with the Government’s inefficiency in curbing such crimes. “We hereby request all the citizens of Jharkhand to identify the people behind such incidents and boycott them,” said Bhattacharya.

“This is the 20th incident of mob violence in Jharkhand. The way mobs are sentencing people to death without trial is a matter of serious concern. Not only the government but also Government nurtured forces are involved in such kinds of violence. The State has failed in maintaining law and order,” said Bhattacharya.

Hitting hard on the State Government for organising events on regular basis, Bhattachrya said that the State Government is busy organising events on regular basis instead of working for the basic requirements of people like electricity, water, sanitation and others. “Now the State Government will organise plantation and water conservation drive, but it should clarify where the 1 crore saplings that the Government planted and received awards for disappeared?” Bhattacharya asked.

The party General Secretary said that the party will raise all public related issues in upcoming Monsoon Season of the State Assembly which is scheduled to start on July 22 and continue till July 26.
