State main opposition party BJP on Thursday lashed out at the State Government over deteriorating law and order situation especially atrocities against women. State BJP president, Deepak Prakash on the last day of his two-day visit to Naxal infested Chatra district hit on the State Government over poor law and situation, rise in Left Wing Extremist activities and others.
Prakash, the BJP’s Rajya Sabha member said that the State’s law and order situation has worsened in the Mahagathbandhan government comprising Congress, JMM and RJD. He said, “Entire state is scared of LWE dominance, criminals having a free hand, rise in crime against women. There is a return on Jungle Raj in Jharkhand; there is palpable fear in the face on people of residents of Chatra.”
He said, “This is mainly due to government failure as the present government has lost the will power to handle criminals and extremists with an iron hand.” Sharing the figures, Prakash said more than five women are raped and murdered in the State every day. More than 1,700 women are raped in a year, with the highest number of cases involving women and daughters of tribal and Dalit societies.
The Rajya Sabha member termed the present government as anti-farmer as the government has stopped previous government various welfare schemes for farmers. Under the Mukhyamantri Krishi Ashirwad Yojana, farmers were to get Rs 5000 per acre with a maximum of Rs 25,000 for five acres of land, but the present government has stopped all these schemes. Due to black marketing of urea, farmers are bound to purchase the urea at higher price. Similarly, farmers are not getting the minimum support price of paddy due to involvement of middlemen. Farmers are bound to sell paddy at Rs 1100 to 1200 per quintal against the announced MSP of Rs 2050 per quintal.
The State BJP president claimed that in the present government only one business is surviving which is of transfer and posting. The government is crying over scarcity of funds, but in reality the state government is not able to even spend funds allocated to the State by the Centre for fighting against corona pandemic.
Highlighting the power scenario in the State especially in Chatra district, he said that the power situation in Chatra is very bad. The power grid was constructed in the Raghubar Das led government but the present government has not been able to start.
