The Opposition party members on Tuesday gathered in a convention at SDC to discuss and oppose the domicile policy, displacement, and amendments to CNT and SPT Acts besides, atrocities against Dalits.
The leaders, including Babulal Marandi, Subodh Kant Sahay, Yogendra Sao, Shailendra Mahto, shared a common platform to unite public on the above issues.
They unanimously said that the ruling party in the State is anti-farmers and only providing benefits to the industrialists through rectifying the norms which is against the public. Various other facets of the plans were discussed by the opposition leaders present there.
All these opposition members will hold public meetings to target people residing in all the five commissionaires of the State in September, 2016. They will also hold a ‘Maha Rally’ in November, 2016 to compel the government to take actions as per demanded by the public.
“The purpose of organising the convention is to gain public support besides, awakening the masses on the matter of displacement, domicile, CNT and SPT Acts, including other core issues which are being suppressed by the BJP to provide benefits to a few selected people. The State government is working like a dictator. The issue of land acquisition needs to be addressed on priority basis, as in each district quarries are available. People are being displaced and government at present does not have any alternative,” said Congress leader Subodh Kant Sahay.
“land Bank concept of the central government will devastate the existing infrastructure,” added Sahay.
Supporting the views of Sahay, JVM party Supremo Babulal Marandi added, “Gradually, the land and other forest resources are shrinking. The ruling government has not yet taken any concrete decision on land Acquisition Act, 2013. The domicile issue too is pending with the government. The fight will continue until all our demands are fulfilled. All the parties which are in support will raise the issue time and again. Displaced people need justice.”
