Opp flays SDM transfer; fans sing Bhor tunes on social media

The transfer order of Ranchi (Sadar) Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Bhor Singh Yadav on Tuesday evening has generated considerable amount of all-round condemnation of government, not only from the Opposition but also from the common man, from the road to the social media. Condemning the decision, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) Working President and leader of Opposition Hemant Soren said on Wednesday that an immediate transfer was the only reward government could honour to the official who was fearlessly exposing wrongdoers and trying to bring law and order situation back on the track in city.

The order also left commoners jolted who started appearing on social media to troll the government in support of the SDM. Massages appeared pouring in on social networking websites and mobile applications like Facebook, WhatsApp and twitter right after they came across the news of Yadav being transferred to Jamtara as DDC. Though Yadav said that he will continue performing his duties within his rights wherever he goes, most of the commoners expressing support for him appeared saying that Yadav was only exposing those who needed to be exposed long ago.

Though Yadav is just another name in the list released by the Department of Personnel (GoJ) of other two dozen transfer-posting and additional charges of the Indian Administrative Services (IAS) officials on Tuesday, the name of Yadav has upset every other citizen of Ranchi, who have come forward to ask government to avert his transfer.

“This reminds me the typical Bollywood movie, good administrator can't work at a single place, gets transferred,” tweeted one Aviral Vashishtha on Wednesday. Tagging his tweet to PMO India, one Binay Kumar said, “SDO Ranchi Bhor Singh Yadav who was active against food adulterers was today transferred to remote district. Is this achhe dinIJ” At the same time, one Manish Tiwari appeared tweeting “Transfer of SDO Ranchi Mr Bhor Singh Yadav has exposed the intention of Jharkhand government,” tagging this tweet to the Chief Minister Raghubar Das.

Jharkhand Minority Morcha and Jharkhand State NSUI organised effigy burning programmes of Chief Minister Raghubar Das at Albert Ekka Chowk on Wednesday evening against transfer of Yadav. At the same time, Ranchi University Students Union has decided to organise a protest against Yadav’s transfer, saying that the transfer of such honest and hard working officer would only send wrong message to other officials who had started getting motivated from Yadav.

Though State wing of lok Jan Shakti Party appeared blaming Yadav himself for his transfer saying that his actions were anti-poor, it disappeared in uproar of those in favour of the SDM.

Notably, Yadav remained instrumental in exposing a number of wrongdoers in city from the day he took charge some four months ago. Yadav not only exposed edible oil and milk adulterators, he also came harsh on traffic rule violators and middle-men active in DTO, the wrongdoing of bus owners and duplicate seed sellers in Pandra Market.
