As per their scheduled programme Opposition parties of Jharkhand except JMM organised Sankalp rally in Barkagaon on Wednesday evening and also met jailed MlA Nirmala Devi and her husband Yogendra Sao. Social activist from Delhi, Haryana, Kerela, Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand took part in the Sankalp Sabha.
Addressing the gathering at Sankalp Sabha, former Union Minister Subodh Kant Sahay said that all that happened here is due to connivance of the State Government and local MP Jayant Sinha who took no time to give clean cheat to the police on this incident.
Former CM Babulal Marandi directly blamed the State Government and said that Das Government has failed in saving the interests of the farmers and poor villagers of the state. He demanded high level judicial enquiry of this incident which was supported by all other leaders.
JDU State president Jaleshwar Mahto said that the present State Government is a Government for corporate houses not for the poor citizens of this state so on cannot hope of justice from this Government Congress president Sukhdev Bhagat demanded cancellation of coal mine project of NTPC because this area is known as agricultural zone of Jharkhand State.
Ex-MP BP Mehta said that we have decided to fight for you and it is the start. He assured to continue the fight till getting justice. RJD State president Gautam Sagar Rana illustrated the entire happenings to the representatives of different social organisations specially arrived here to take part in the sankalp sabha.
Social activist Dayamani Balra and others also addressed the gathering and assured them that they will take up their fight from today onwards. The social activist said that Anna Hazare and Megha Patkar will also arrive here to give strength to their fight. They talked about taking this fight to the court also.
In the evening the leaders went to meet jailed MlA Nirmala Devi and her husband former minister Yogendra Sao. The opposition has called a one day Jharkhand Bandh on the issue on October 24.
