There would be two doctors on each of these two days. On Tuesday, in OPD Dr Satyajit Gupta and Dr Satish Kumar will sit for one hour each beginning in the afternoon. On Thursday will sit Dr Anwar Nizam and Dr Rahat Nizam. Confirming this secretary of the Red Cross society Daltonganj Dr Satyajit Gupta said this OPD services will come all free irrespective of the economic strata of the patients.

Gupta said the OPD services will be met by three male doctors namely Satish Anwar and he while the health care of women will be handled by a lady doctor Rahat. Sources said this is the first of its kind in the annals of Red Cross society here where a free OPD is being held twice a week.

Sources said with the change of guard in Red Cross society and Dr Gupta taking over as its secretary things have started looking up.

The Red Cross runs the blood bank and here the going is most tough. Sources said complaints of malpractice do erupt here on the issue of blood for the needy. The most stock in trade complaint is that blood is 'sold' at higher prices sometimes as high as 3,000 per unit of blood.

However secretary Gupta and his team are on the job to curb and contain the leakages for any malpractices. Sources reminded that some time back dr Gupta even tendered his resignation to DC Palamu who is the chairman of Red Cross here which was not accepted by DC in the wake of the credential and integrity of Gupta.
