In Hazaribagh district during current fiscal year till date only 5,057 (Kisan Credit Card)KCCs have been distributed against the target of 50,295. This fact came on surface in the meeting of agriculture task force of the district held last evening under the chairmanship of DDC Ravindra Prasad Singh.
In this meeting the district agriculture officer Sukhdev Hembrom reported that they have sent 22,408 applications to the banks but the banks have given only 5,057 KCCs to the residents of the district. DDC RP Singh took it seriously and is seeking a talk with the higher officials of the banks on this issue.
District agriculture officer Hembrom reported that the department has got proposal of converting 162 hectares barren land into agriculture land and very soon work will start. He also reported that this year paddy crop has been sown in 43,997 hectares against the target of 80,000 hectares. He also gave the data of other crops sown in the district.
DDC Ravindra Prasad Singh directed the members of district task force to arrange training camps in more villages for proper treatment of seeds before sowing. He was satisfied that this year till date such camps have been organised at 257 villages. He also stressed upon paddy crop sowing by Sri Vidhi in more areas of the district. Trainee IAS Harshika Singh, lDM Santosh Bharti and the members of district task force were present in this meeting.
