Rural areas have to be readied for the Covid vaccination where there are issues of online registration, hesitancy and dread of vaccination, said sources.
World Health Organisation's surveillance medical officer in Daltonganj, Dr Valema Deogam said digital registration for Covid vaccination in places like Garu in Latehar district is injudicious as this place is the most difficult place in terms of the internet connectivity.
She said availability of the internet facility here is by chance and not as a rule and here to ask people to go for digital slot taking for the vaccination is nothing but an exercise in vain.
Deogam said for places like this Garu one has to propagate for ease of vaccination here.
Sources said the DC Latehar Abu Imran in his recent tour in Garu had come across the problem of poor internet connection following which he asked his officials to locate and identify some such places where the internet connection is better than those where it is most elusive.
Sources said some Latehar officials have claimed to have found some small locations where the internet connection will be somewhat better to enable registration and vaccination with the help of vaccination on the wheels.
Deogam said more telecommunications service providers may be put in place where internet connection is most difficult.
Sources said the administration does think on this line but the lurking extremists and their threat to towers come in the way.
Sources said there are locations in Garu and Bhandarya blocks where cell phone users in search of the internet climb a rock or tree or even don't mind to sit in the graveyard where internet connection comes fast.
One graveyard in Bhandarya in Garhwa district is famous not for any big soul lying there but for its internet connection!
The WHO official further wants that four registrations only for the covid vaccination from one cell phone number a day be either expanded or better waived where internet connection is poorest of the poor.
About hesitancy among the people for the vaccination WHO official Deogam said there is a great need to reduce and remove it but some fake stories about ill effects of the vaccination on social sites and in What's App groups etc about the vaccination cause enormous brake on the face and pace of the vaccination.
On the dread of vaccination WHO official said many people have confided in her that they fear the prick of the needle of the syringe most. Deogam said she has been assuring people that the prick of the needle is all painless and harmless.
