The students appearing for Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) matriculation and intermediate examinations 2014 need not worry if they have not received their admit cards till now. JAC has made an option to download the soft copy of admit cards from its website from Tuesday 2pm onwards.

The examinations are beginning from February 21. Matriculation exam will be held in the first half and inter exams in the second half. By March 7 Matriculation exams will conclude. Inter exam will end by March 13.

“We introduced this concept for the convenience of students. Students just have to enter their registration slip number to get their admit card,” said JAC Chairperson Anand Bhushan. Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) had introduced ‘online admit card’ recently.

Bhushan said that students can call on 0651-6453344 for further query concerning this online admit card process.

Notably, as many as 480628 students are appearing for matriculation exam in 895 centres across the state. For intermediate examinations, 299329 students are appearing across 408 centres.

The examination copies and question papers were delivered to respective centres by the council today. Instead of line, 2014 is written in the form of a line on the answer sheets.

like always the Council will soon publish four or five phone numbers to call the Control Room in case of any query related to exam.

Noticing the ongoing strike of aided High School and affiliated Intermediate College teachers who have decided to stay apart from these examinations, JAC and State Human Resources Development (HRD) department has directed District Education Officers and Deputy Commissioners to ensure peaceful examination ambience.

“We and HRD department firmly believe that these teachers will end their strike and will cooperate during the examinations. We will take the examinations on time,” the Chairperson said.

On Sunday, HRD minister Geetashree Oraon had mentioned the institutions who have accepted to host this exam cannot deny at the eleventh hour. Relating this fact, Bhushan informed that four centres involving Bokaro, Hazaribagh and Palamau districts have denied to conduct the exam. “less than 100 colleges have not collected the admit card,” he said.

Since this session onwards, Bhushan had introduced mock tests for the better results of matric and intermediate (especially science stream).

He said, “This mock test has marked a positive impression among the students and their parents and they have asked for more such mock tests. It is because of this reason, we will conduct five mock tests for the board aspirants from next session.”

The question paper has been made in such a way that teachers will be bound to follow step marking.

This year, the number of aspirants has increased. Bhushan said that there is an increase of 35,000 students in matric and 8000 in Inter.

“If a candidate is found appearing board exam in CBSE as well as JAC then his or her attempt will be cancelled in both the education boards,” said Bhushan.
