lauding the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) Government at the Centre, national president of BJP Kisan Morcha Vijaypal Singh Tomar claimed that the adequate steps have been taken by the Government to control the price of onion in across the Country. Singh was talking to the mediapersons after holding one day workshop at Fisheries Training Centre at Ranchi.
“Adequate arrangements have been made by the Centre to stabilise the price of onions in the country and has also imported several tonnes of onion from other countries so that the crisis could be overcome,” Singh said.
Singh also praised the steps taken by the Jharkhand Government for the up-lift of farmers in the State. “Jharkhand Government has decided to pay full premium for the first year of the BJP families registering under schemes recently launched by the central government benefitting over 50 lakh individuals,” Singh said.
Furthermore, he added, that adequate steps have been taken in the field of water harvesting for irrigation purposes bearing 80 per cent of the cost by the Jharkhand government and the remaining cost of the project will be borne by Agricultural committees.
Moreover, the government has also decided to donate those cows free of cost to the farmers which are caught from the cattle smugglers being taken to slaughter them, said Singh.
Coming down heavily on United Progressive Alliance, Singh alleged that the Modi was being branded as anti-farmers; they are the same people who gave several hundred acres of farmer’s land to Industrialists during their tenure while Modi has not yet given a single inch of land to any Industrialist.
“Those who have fired bullets on the farmers and acquired farmers’ land only to give it to the Industrialists, are alleging us of being anti-farmer,” Singh said.
“Although the land acquisition bill has been withdrawn, we are still committed towards the development of the farmers as well as the villages and will find out some solution to develop the villages and the farmers,” said Singh.
Counting on the achievement made by the Modi Government at the center, Singh said that the present government, decreasing the minimum limit for the losses incurred due to natural disasters has been fixed to 33 per cent, which earlier happened to be 50 per cent.
“Similarly, the limit of compensation has also been increased from one hectare to two hectare, including heavy rainfall and hailstorm also into the category of natural disaster” Singh said.
